Recently widowed senior Walt Kowalski speaks his mind no matter who he offends, and growls under his breath whenever he disagrees with those around him. Much of his personal values are shaped from his time in the Korean War. He doesn't understand his family, nor they him. As such, they tolerate each other more than love each other. He has lived in the same house for much of his adult life, in an older working class suburban neighborhood of Detroit. It is slowly transforming into an immigrant neighborhood. The Lor family, of ethnic Hmong descent, move in next door to Walt, the family which includes two teenagers: outspoken Sue, and brooding and passive Thao. The neighbors' initial "don't speak to me" relationship changes when, out of circumstance, Walt saves Thao from a potentially violent incident with a Vietnamese youth gang. This incident, only the latest of run-in's Thao has had with them, sparks the neighbors to get to know each other. This new relationship with his neighbors extends to an antagonistic relationship with the Vietnamese gang. Walt realizes that neither Thao or Sue will ever be able to live in peace as long as the gang exists.

Last Chance Harvey 720p Bluray x264-CBGB

Last chance Harvey is a must see movie for all Dustin Hoffman fans and all romantic people out there. Movies like this are
very rare these days. there is no nudity, no loud music, nu special effects. it's a one-man-show, hoffman pulls the entire movie, of course with help from Emma Thompson. in the Last chance Harvey, you really get to experience the power of acting. Nominated for 2 Golden Globes.

the BLuray release from CBGB is real state-of-the-art, like I said this is no action movie, but it's worth the image quality to see London (this time sunny) and some romantic places.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button 720p Bluray x264-CBGB

Mindblowingly fine Movie. why didn't get Benjamin Button all the Oscars? Brad Pitt was definitely eagerly waiting for a best actor academy award. He was in the frontseat on the oscars 2009 evening, applauding every tiny award, ready for the big moment of the night, the best actor in the leading role. Sean Pean got it instead, of course a few classes above Brad Pitt regarding acting skill.

The movie the curious case of Benjamin Button was indeed a film to remember over the years, the story is both bizarre and intriguing, you might think, after you see the trailer, that you saw everything you need to know, boring. but you're wrong, so wrong. after you see the movie, you'll cry or you're going to stay awake for hours trying to comprehend how such a life, like the one of Benjamin Button, can be, going in reverse, from old to young, from aged to child, how hard can it be to see your wife and children going old, how strange is to be a teenager but have the experience of a lifetime.

David Fincher, the director does a wonderful job changing the scenery, fashion trends, from the end World War until Hurricane Katrina. The cinematography is superb (best seen in Bluray of course) and couples nicely with Fincher's style of accentuating certain colors to enhance a mood or moment. Seeing a leder-clad sunglasses Brad Pitt driving a motorcycle on an old country road in the middle of a beautiful forrest, this is something every woman out there wants to see. 

The CGI is also state-of-the-art, the whole Brad Pitt aging stage was so good, they want to use it in the new Harry Potter film as well.

Cate Blanchett is great, problably one of her best roles of all times, her life as girlfriend and wife portrayed in the movie is touching, she is the one who meets Button as a aged old child, falls in love with the matured-looking teenager, marries and has children with the experienced young-looking Benjamin,  suffer the shock of losing the old youngster (who dissapears in India), takes care of the very old infant, who doesn't remember that much from his life toghether, until the last moments, and lives to tell the story of her life (and the lovestory) to the now grown children.  
Everytime you'll see this movie or think about the curious case of benjamin button, you'll think life is short, we have to live every second of it in full.

there are also moments in the movie, the taxi accident for one, that are carefully designed to blow your mind. I leave for you to decide how powerful they are.
