Terminator 4: Salvation – Blu-ray Release – Part 1

Update: in the meantime, there are some T4 dvd screener releases, but not yet watchable, so I'm still going to wait for the bluray version, in 720p or 1080p, doesn't matter what will be released first, it's worth it. Christian Bale is the new John Connor, that much we know, we also knew the Terminator Salvation ending, thanks to the very curious people around the T4 sets. The original ending supposedly

had the half-human Marcus donning John Connor's skin after his death in order to maintain morale among the human resistance. the idea was to convince them that Connor was still alive and not just to terrify them into fighting harder.

Other rumors stated:

It was reported last year that a cyborg named Marcus was once a criminal executed in 2003. He donated his body to a project involved with SkyNet, which made him a terminator skeleton. At the end of the film, John Connor will be seen fighting a T800 model 101 and loses. He dies but the resistance people want to keep his image alive; thus, they stripped off his skin and put it on Marcus'.

Yeah, these are only rumors, James Cameron changed the T4 ending again, and no one knows it, it’s a surprise. I can’t wait. The movie must be great.

Story: Set in post-apocalyptic 2018, John Connor is the man fated to lead the human resistance against Skynet and its army of Terminators. But the future Connor was raised to believe in is altered in part by the appearance of Marcus Wright, a stranger whose last memory is of being on death row. Connor must decide whether Marcus has been sent from the future, or rescued from the past. As Skynet prepares its final onslaught, Connor and Marcus both embark on an odyssey that takes them into the heart of Skynet’s operations, where they uncover the terrible secret behind the possible annihilation of mankind.

Nice franchise we have here, Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker made a lot of money for them and for the movie studios, new line cinema & co. They have chemistry, that’s true. We all know Rush Hour 1, it was hilarious. What about the third installment,

Was it better? I don’t know really, I tried to laugh but it was kind of the same stuff all over again, only in Paris , Eiffel Tower and with a lot of French bad guys. I guess you have to decide for yourself, I don’t want to say anything bad about Jackie Chan, he is unique.

Only hot chicks in this movie, Ali Larter (we all know her from Heroes), Ashanti (the Murder Inc Ja Rule girl) and of course Milla Jovovich. What this tells us? This is the extinction of the Resident Evil saga, the first one was actually quite good and fresh, second one started already to be quite ‘yeah right’ unbelievable. I mean, who can believe that Jovovich can beat a metal robot monster, 3 times her size?

This is war, yeah, Jason Statham vs. Jet Li, who’s better, the street bully or the kung fu smart boy? I find such movies very funny, the marketing department researched probably for a long time who are the best action actors to play in War, to achieve maximum market attention and to get the best return on investment.

The movie is fun, action, revenge, guns, fights. It’s about a certain FBI agent who’s trying to avenge his partner brutal death by the hand of mysterious and deadly assassin Rogue. The Chinese mafia and the Japanese Jakuza are getting of course in the way.

Here a few good reasons to see this movie:
- Random girls getting naked for no apparent reason.

- A car chase every 10 minutes. There's even one with motorcycles.
- Violence, violence, violence
- Jet Li and Jason Statham fighting each other. Marketing at his best.

3:10 To Yuma 720p Bluray x264-SEPTiC

Now this is a cool blu-ray release. 3:10 to Yuma is also a very good western movie, western like in the John Wayne times. Two of my favorite actors play in the movie, Russell Crowe, from Gladiator, and Christian Bale, who’s trying to break all the records, playing all kinds of cool characters, from Batman to Prestige magician to Machinist strange person… in 3:10 to Yuma he is a quiet farmer / father who has some post civil war issues but tries to overcome them and concentrate on his farm and family.
Surprise, this doesn’t really work in a western movie, there is always someone who tries to steal or kill them, or just to mess around a bit. But that what makes it fun to watch isn’t it?
Russell Crowe is your villain (the infamous outlaw Ben Wade), he has also a dangerous gang of murderers and thieves and together they rob trains in the doomed and helpless Arizona. Dan Evans (Bale) is supposed to stop them, alone and injured. Why? He needs the money; he will get a bounty reward if he delivers Ben Wade on time to the Yuma train.

Changeling 720p BluRay x264-SEPTiC

Angelina Jolie is not the sex bomb in the Changeling movie. she looks like hell actually most of the time in the movie, bad hair, strange clothes, visible makeup (especially in HD quality is quite visible). This is of course intentionally so, she went for the academy awards on this one, you can't get an Oscar for looking too hot, that's too common, you have to be special and different, and suffer a lot. it's a drama after all and Changeling was based on a true story, and a very sad one I might say. Angelina Jolie received indeed a nomination for the 'best performance in a leading role' Academy Award (or Oscar for Best Actress in translation).
I watched the Oscars night at home, it was quite interesting, and Angelina was there in the first row, waiting eagerly for the nominations, together with the husband Brad Pitt, also nominated for Benjamin Button. The competition was actually quite fierce, Kate Winslet and Meryl Streep were there, so it was a nice try, maybe next time, Angelina.

the movie Changeling is actually quite good rated (8.1/10 at imdb), from Clint Eastwood you can only expect good quality. Like I said, the story is sad, to see kidnappings and torturing children is not funny at all, but the message in the end was still hope for finding the lost son. ClintEastwood s knows a good story, and he knows how to tell it on film. I'll write about his movies, he still has a lot to offer. Did I mention that Eastwood is my favorite film director? :)
The activist preacher Reverend Briegleb (John Malkovich) helps bring the worlds together in his radio broadcasts, Malkovich for once playing good well.

Sin City 2005 720p BluRay x264-SEPTiC

The movie Sin City is mind-blowingly cool, sexy, dark, violent. This was actually the first film I've seen in Blu-Ray quality. this was few years back, I was in Spain, Barcelona, visiting some friends and one evening we watched Sin City, in Spanish, with English subtitles, on a small 32'' Toshiba LCD, in 720p resolution. Ciudad del Pecado, It was a beautiful experience, seeing all my favorite actors, Bruce Willis, Benicio del Toro, Mickey Rourke, Clive Owen in the same movie and talking spanish :). My favorite performance was delivered in by Mickey Rourke for playing Marv absolutely perfect from the comic book.

The movie is now still very high rated, in the top 100 movies of all times, Frank Miller and Robert Rodrigues did a great adaptation from the famous comics.

you'll get lots of violence and brutality in Sin City, although most of it is either totally cartoon-style, or off camera, and some gore as well... Also some good amount of nudity in the film, so you'll probably want to leave the kiddies at home.

But you can take a look, Carla Gugino almost naked is not bad at all as Lucille:



The love story between Bruce Willis and Jessica Alba is also worth mentioning. or not...

De Niro and Al Pacino, they did it again. It's just great to see both of them in the same film. first in The Heat, now in the Righteous Kill. in The Heat, Robert de Niro was the bad guy, Al Pacino the the good cop. in the Righteous Kill movie, Al Pacino is the bad cop, De Niro the good one. in both films, the one kills the other.

What's interesting to see Robert De Niro banging Carla Gugino, and kind of brutally banging. Carla Gugino plays the part quite good, she seems to enjoy rough sex very much.

This is a movie I'll never forget. Viggo Mortensen is the best, he plays here the retired mafia man, who wants to enjoy a happy quiet life with his family. but the old gangster buddies find him and want to drag him again in the business. his history of violence doesn't let go, Viggo has to fight for his life and the life of his family.
Ed Harris is also in this movie.

The film builds itself slowly, but the tension is great. the action and the brutality is very visible, this is a bluray release after all :)

You must know this one, the Twilight buzz is everywhere, vampire love all that jazz.
There was also a Twilight book and the movie is a very close adaptation of it. The story is very catchy, the chemistry between Bella and Edward it's what makes this story special. Not only that, but the vampire premise - it really never gets old, especially when you put a new spin on it, as Meyer did in her books.
